In this third guest article hosted by WhichPLM, we write about digital customer engagement in the physical world beyond an app-focused approach. We explore the potential of new connectivity technologies to connect products and locations to rich interactive experiences without the restrictive need of a mobile app having to be installed on the phone of a consumer. We argue that we are on the verge of a new marketing paradigm, in which rich digital content and interactivity about everything around us can be in reach within seconds, free from the intermediary layer of mobile phone software.
